James D. Capozzi, M.D., is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialty training in joint replacement surgery. After receiving his Bachelor's Degree from Columbia University, he went on to obtain his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Capozzi completed his orthopaedic training at Mount Sinai Hospital and the Otto Aufranc Adult Joint Reconstructive Fellowship at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. In addition to performing hip and knee replacements, Dr. Capozzi specializes in difficult revision surgery utilizing the newest techniques in joint reconstructive surgery including partial knee replacements, minimal incision surgery, and surface hip replacements. He also specializes in the care of elderly patients with fractures. Dr. Capozzi is the editor for the Ethics in Practice section of the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery. He is also is chairman of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Ethics Committee. Dr. Capozzi has published a book of reflections on the Psalms entitled "Beside Quiet Waters".
